Since I last checked in, when we drove over the Top of the World Highway, we ended up in Delta Junction, the end of the alcan -- or, Alaska/Canadian Highway. A friend from my genealogy society in AZ lives there, so we met up with her and her husband. The have a beautiful home on Clearwater River, so named because the water is crystal clear, even in winter, as it is spring fed and doesn't freeze over. We joined them for dinner at the Clearwater Lodge and spent the evening at Clearwater Recreation Area.

We left in the morning and got the obligatory pics by the Delta Junction terminus and then headed out to Chena Hot Springs, about 60 miles outside of Fairbanks. We first passed through North Pole, a little village before Fairbanks with all kinds of Christmas ornaments and decorations at Santa's house

On Saturday morning we headed out to Fairbanks. We had a BIG moose run out in front of the RV on the way into Fairbanks and Mike was cool and able to stop and avoid hitting it, scary moment!
We'll be here in Fairbanks at Wainwright base for several days for our next adventures. Stay tuned!!
