Adventure

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power" Alan Cohen

Spa treatment, Canadian style

5/30/2018 Laird Hot Springs to 6/1/2018 Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada

We left Fort Nelson and headed on up the road to Laird Hot Springs for a couple days.  These are natural underground sulphur hot springs.  Folks stop here on their way to Alaska to soak and share stories.  There's a long boardwalk across the surrounding marsh where last time we spotted a moose; this year no moose, but we did see some Canadian geese.

We had no internet or phone service while at the Springs, major withdrawal for me!

On the way up from Fort Nelson we saw 1 porcupine, 5 mountain goats, 2 stone mountain goats, a moose and its baby and 10 black bears

It was a stellar day for spotting wildlife!  We left Laird Springs June 1st, Saturday, and had a long day past Teslin Lake and on into Whitehorse.  We saw 16 bison on the way to Whitehorse, they are huge animals.
We enjoyed a dinner of halibut at the local restaurant and are spending the night in Whitehorse.  Next stop - Dawson City!
